SFI Annual Report PDF
The 2007/2008 SFI annual report is attached. Please distribute it widely to potential industrial and university partners, potential IGERT graduate students, and all in a position to promote SFI activities.
Construction has also begun on the 2008/2009 report, so please send copies of accepted proposals and pertinent graphics or photos that might illustrate the next report.
SFI wants to recognize outstanding and substantial contributions of its members.Throughout the year, please send information about your honors and recognitions related to SFI’s goal of achieving sustainability on a national and international level from its teaching, research, and outreach contributions to the field of sustainable systems. This includes mention of your work in national or international magazines, journals, and newspapers, national and international professional organization awards, and distinguished academic awards. Future annual reports may NOT include all honors that pertain to local or insulated achievements, (e.g. service, dedication, some scholarly activities) though we will continue to include them in the weekly newsletters.
SFI Member Publications will soon be Posted on New SFI Website
Work on the SFI’s new website is progressing. The website will now include SFI publications in either abstract or full article format depending on publisher copyright restrictions. Many journals now allow full articles to be posted on university websites, but some still do not. See examples below.
Operators are standing by 24/7 to receive pdfs of abstracts or full articles of your publications in accordance with your journal's policy. Please send them to Melissa Davis (email@example.com).
Elsevier publishes about 2000 journals, including Biomass & Bioenergy, Chemosphere, Ecological Economics, Ecological Engineering, Ecological Indicators, Energy Policy, and Environmental Science & Policy.
However, American Chemical Society does NOT allow its articles to be published on Web sites or in online publications (http://pubs.acs.org/page/copyright/permissions.html)
“The republishing of ACS full articles (e.g. Environmental Science and Technology) on a website is not permissible. As an alternative, you may link to the article's DOI or post the article's author-directed URL link provided by ACS.”
